Prestige and respect: the title itself of doctor of medicine commands respect due to to the nature of its job which is helping others. Since the olden times, the power of healing has been considered divine and those who yield it are highly looked up. Some say being a doctor is like being God's servant.

Indispensability: there is high demand for doctors in certain communities and you may like the feeling of being very much needed. Like lawyers and accountants, you can be your own boss by having your own clinic where you work by your own rules at your own time.

Take care of your family: with the high cost of health care, some of you might be interested in being the physician of the family rather than pay professional fees to another person.
